Glass cleaning is a snap with all Paradigm hung windows which feature tilt in sashes with reliable and easy to use operating mechanisms. Sashes do not need to be removed for cleaning, simply tilt each sash in as described below.
- Raise the bottom sash approximately 3” up from the bottom of the window. Place your hands on either end of the top rail of the sash while grasping the tilt latch buttons with your index fingers. Using a sliding motion, move both tilt latch buttons towards the center of the sash, while supporting the sash with your hands. (See image 1)
- Carefully pull the top rail in towards the interior of the room allowing it to pivot down towards the bottom of the window frame. (See image 2)
- Now, wash the outside surface of the glass. If you are going to wash the outside of the upper sash, lower this sash approximately 3” and follow steps 1 and 2 above.
- When you have washed the window, re-engage the tilt latch mechanism by carefully pivoting each sash upwards towards the window frame, while holding it level, and pushing gently against the window frame until you hear the latches ‘snap’ closed.
Note: You must return the upper sash to the locked position before you tilt back the lower sash.
